The U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform investigated Blackwater’s work in Iraq and concluded that the company’s employees were involved in 195 shooting incidents, that the firm charged the U.S. government $1,221 per day for Blackwater contractors, and that Blackwater received an 80,000% increase in federal contracts between 2001 and 2006.

According to declassified military documents released to the American Civil Liberties Union, an American solider shocked “an Iraqi detainee with an electric transformer.” The report states the solider held “the wires against the shoulder of a detainee & that the detainee ‘danced’ as he was shocked.”
