The Associated Press documents the repressive tactics used by Victor Paz Estenssoro’s government during a 90-day state of siege. Practices included mass arrests, prohibiting citizens from gathering in groups of three or more after certain hours, and kidnapping labor leaders and interning them in the jungles of Bolivia.
